Exhibition Introduction: The scroll Pictorial History of the Grand Canal of China is an artistic crystallization that transcends time and space, telling the story of the millennium-old Grand Canal in a romantic style. With a total length of 135 meters and a height of 3 meters, the scroll was mainly created of painters and calligraphers from Jiangsu Province, with 15 painters and calligraphers from other 8 provinces and municipalities along the Grand Canal participating in the creation, which took a year and a half to complete after many revisions. Through a new perspective, the scroll harmoniously integrates poetry, calligraphy, painting, and seals from multiple dimensions such as time, space, humanity, and nature. Divided into two parts: "Great Achievement in Ancient China" and "Glorious Chapters in the New Era", it outlines the 2,500-year history of excavation and development of the Grand Canal and presents the natural scenery and prosperous scenes of the four seasons along the canal.
