Sihong County Bian River

Bian River, also known as Bian Canal and Tongji Canal, is an important part of the Grand Canal, which was dug in 605 AD. Along the river, there are the ruins of Mahu City of Sui Dynasty in Qingyang Town, the garden ruins of the Tang and Song Dynasties, and the Chengbei Well in Chenwei Township from the Qing Dynasty, etc. In 2014, it was listed in the World Cultural Heritage along with the cultural sites of the Grand Canal.

Nowadays, Sihong County "beautifies" the ancient Bian River, and builds the New Century Park, Century Bridge, and Ancient Bian River Sightseeing Belt. Surrounding the Sihong County, the Bian River ripples with green waves. Pavilions and towers are built along the riverbank. The green willows give great shades and the country is like a fantasy land.
