Designed by Chen Weixin, the designer of the Librairie Avant-Garde that is one of the world's top ten bookstores, Wangshan Bookstore incorporates elements of light and shadow, mountain shape, nature and Zhenjiang. It fully displays the characteristic attractions of Zhenjiang, namely the "three mountains and a ferry", so that Zhenjiang people can "see the mountains and water, and be reminded of their hometown" here.
The 8m-high ceiling in the bookstore creates a sense of staggered heights, reflecting the theme of "mountains" inside, and making the space more layered and structured. The bookstore adopts a brand-new design concept and integrates the aesthetics of life. It features structured layers and mountain shapes, and achieves the perfect combination of visual art and space.
The bookstore also has various sections such as a social science section, library-style reading section, select and creative literature section, multifunctional hall, small lecture hall, small exhibition hall, etc., which suits the modern retail business and fully satisfies customers' various requirements in cultural experiences.
