Lu Gaojian

Lu Gaojian is a hundred-year old shop in Suzhou founded in the 2nd year of Emperor Kangxi Period (1663)and operates raw and cooked meat product specially.

The origin for Lu Gaojian is that the surname of the boss is Lu and Gaojian is a kind of mat woven by rice or wheat straw, and Lu Gaojian is famous both at home and abroad owing to a braised pork by bundling with rice straw.

The braised pork has the characteristics as thin skin, showing wheat yellow, white flesh and red lean meat, fulfills the mouth with good smell upon eating and is the “spiced braised pork” worthy of the name; for the stewed duck in soy sauce, spray the specially made marinade of monascus and rock candy onto the skin of duck to make it red with sweet, tender and delicious, have very nice color, smell and taste, and it is called as “secretly-made stewed duck in soy sauce”. Besides, the seasonal dish “braised soy sauce pork” is supplied in spring only once a year in Suzhou, it is a very famous dish of Lu Gaojian.
