Changshu Fangta Garden

Standing on the east terminal of the ancient city Changshu, the Fangta  Garden is a classic garden newly built on its old site left from the Song Dynasty and has got the name owing to the Fangta standing inside.

Fully named as “Chongjiao Xingfu Temple Pagoda”, the Fangta has four sides and nine floors; as a landmark building of the ancient city Changshu, it was firstly built in the Southern Song Dynasty and was listed as a Key cultural relic under state protection in 2006.

The Fangta, the ancient well and the ancient ginkgo left from the Song Dynasty are called as “the three treasures in the garden”. The Fangta building, imitated from that of the Song Dynasty, is not only splendid, grand with the spiritual charm of royal gardens, but also applies the twisted and changeable techniques of Southern China gardens, and the twisted bridge, pavilion, corridor and waterside pavilion, hilly stone, flowers and trees bring out the best in each other.

At the northeast part of the scenic area, it is built with “Bishui Qinchuan” clean government culture theme park and at the north, Changshu City Tablet Carving Museum and Changshu Celebrity Hall.
