On December 16th, the Xu Su huai Yan Railway, which the masses in northern Jiangsu were looking forward to, officially opened for operation. This was a major event in the development history of Jiangsu’s high-speed railway during the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan” period. It also wrote a new chapter in the development history of the Northern Jiangsu Railway.
The Xusu-Huaiyan Railway connects Xuzhou, Suqian, Huai’an, and Yancheng in series. It connects to the Beijing-Shanghai Railway, Longhai Railway, Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway, and Zhengxu Railway. It can effectively alleviate the pressure of the busiest southern section of the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed rail, which is of great significance for optimizing the high-speed rail network in northern Jiangsu and even the province.
The Xusu-Huaiyan Railway is a “new engine” for economic and social development along the line. After the Xusu Huaiyan Railway opened to traffic, the space-time distance between Xuzhou and Suqian, Huai’an, Yancheng and other places has been greatly reduced. It will take only a moment to Suqian. It only takes about one hour to Huai’an, and the time to Yancheng is two hours faster than the highway.It will promote the accelerated flow of people, logistics, and capital flows, promote the development of competition and cooperation among cities along the route, and accelerate the integration of Xuzhou into the regional integration of the Yangtze River Delta.
The Xusu-Huaiyan Railway is the “artery” supporting the construction of the central city. Through high-speed rail, Xuzhou currently forms a “one-hour city circle” with provincial capitals such as Nanjing, Zhengzhou, Jinan, and Hefei, and can reach Beijing, Xi’an, Wuhan, Shanghai, Hangzhou and other metropolitan cities within 3 hours by high-speed rail.
Xuzhou-Huaiyan Railway is the “one” of Xuzhou’s “meter” -shaped high-speed railway hub. After the official opening and operation of the city, the total mileage of the city’s high-speed railway will reach 265.3 kilometers. The status of comprehensive transportation hubs and central cities in the Huaihai Economic Zone will be further enhanced.
