Mao Mountain has a unique and stunning natural landscape with fantastic rock peaks and lush green forests, a number of deep secluded caves, as well as pools and streams which interweave amongst the valleys.
Mao Mountain is famous for being the holy land of Taoism and the birthplace of the Taoist Shangqing (purity faction), later it became known as “the first blessed land and eighth fairyland.”
Mao Mountain is also famous for being an Anti-Japanese base area and was listed as one of six major national anti-Japanese base areas by Chairman Mao.
