Sanfengqiao Sauced Spareribs 三凤桥酱排骨

Sanfengqiao Sauced Spareribs, is commonly known as Wuxi Bone-in Meat, which is a traditional famous dish in Wuxi, Jiangsu Province, and belongings to the Jiangsu cuisine. With a history of nearly 140 years since its emergence. It is one of the three famous specialties in Wuxi. Sauced Sparerib is characterized by the cooking culture in Wuxi Region.

Sanfengqiao Sauced Spareribs were produced in the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (around 1875 AD). Wuxi Nanmen Moshengxing Restaurant, in order to make full use of the remaining back and ribs, added seasoning and stewed until crisp. It was called as sauced sparerib and sold as wine dishes. In 1927, after the grand opening of Shenyu Meat Restaurant (the predecessor of Sanfengqiao Meat Restaurant), the cooking technology of meat bone was improved, with the taste being significantly enhanced. As Wuxi’s economy advances, a number of tourists come from other places. People deeply enjoy the bone-in meat, and Sanfengqiao Sauced Spareribs rise to fame.
