Yixing Bamboo Sea

At the turn of autumn and winter, the bamboo sea has the most colorful time of the year. In Yixing Bamboo Sea, you will find flowing water, red maples and ginkgoes. It’s so picturesque that the view changes every step you walk, and you linger a lot intoxicated. From November to early December is the best time to enjoy ginkgoes at Yixing Bamboo Sea. It’s also the period when the thousand-year-old ginkgo tree at Jizhao Temple changes from light yellow to golden yellow, which fascinates every visitor to Yixing Bamboo Sea.

This ancient tree aged over a thousand is said to be planted by Su Dongpo during his leisurely stay in Yixing in the Song Dynasty. More than a thousand years later, the ginkgo tree has grown into a gigantic tree with a thick trunk, luxuriant branches, green crown, deep roots, and enormous vitality. As the warm sun of early winter shines softly on the Yixing Bamboo Sea, the beautiful scenery changes before our eyes. Every brick and tile, every grass and tree has a different kind of beauty.
