Natural Bridge Scenic Area is a tourist attraction that combines ecological landscape, tourism and leisure, vacation & health care, and humanistic landscape. This scenic area, with “cultural & leisure” as the core, is the Nanjing Suburban Tourist Destination centering on Qinhuai Culture, Ming Dynasty’s Culture, and River Transportation Culture.
The whole area now covers an area of 1.27 km2, and falls into four parts:River Rouge — Natural Bridge Scenic Area, Phoenix Well Scenic Area, Secluded Valley Villa Leisure Resort Area, and Tourism Service Area.
As a famous artificial canal, River Rouge was created as per the order by Zhu Yuanzhang (Taizu of Ming Dynasty) to communicate the grain transporting between Jiangsu and Zhejiang. Phoenix Well Scenic Area, with a mythical legend and picturesque scenery. It is filled with the birds’ twitter and fragrance of flowers, with multiple zoos and amusement projects being established. Its ecological environment can be called as the natural oxygen bar provided by the nature for people.
Here one can hear the touching legends of the River Rouge, appreciate the Small Three Gorges in its steepness, craggedness, splendor and deepness.Besides appreciating the uncanny workmanship of nature, the tourisms can also relax in the farmhouse with fresh style, complete facilities, elegance and outstanding cultural atmosphere. One can taste the local dishes with strong local flavor, and buy some special tourist products like Royal Pastries, Bamboo Shoots, Green Plums.
