Sanwan enjoys the most beautiful landscape in the Yangzhou Section of the canal. The curving river gives people the feeling of sandwiched banks and painted screens. Nowadays, Sanwan Scenic Area is a large-scale ecological scenic area with beautiful cultural landscape and leisure facilities based on the scenery of the Yunhe Sanwan and the surrounding wetlands.
The scenic spot covers an area of 3,800 mu, including the core area of about 1,520 mu. It’s planned to take the Gaomin Temple and Wenfeng Temple in Yangzhou as the endpoints with the ancient canal as the axis. Centering on Yunhe Sanwan Scenic Spot, fully demonstrating hydraulic skills and canal culture, and creating an urban southern scenic spot, sports recreation area and tourist resort area, adding splendor to the Slender West Lake.
The main scenic spots: Jianying Bridge, Lingbo Bridge, Tingyu Pavilion, Bird Watching House, Jinshan Scenic View, Qinse Bridge, Le Shui Garden, and other scenic spots are characterized by the different cultures of Yunhe Sanwan Scenic Spot. On Dec. 20, 2018, the scenic spot was rated as a national 4A level scenic spot.
