Baziqiao Cultural Tourism Leisure Block

Baziqiao Cultural Tourism Leisure Block is a cluster area of night cultural tourism resort built by Xinghua. Themed with “Scholarly Biography of the Prime Minister in Feudal China”, capitalizing on the historical and cultural features of the block and integrating the high-quality resources of cultural, tourism and commercial industry, it shapes diversified entertainment forms such as night play, night show, night tour, night shopping, night entertainment, night food and night exhibition, and builds an cluster of night cultural tourism for economic development.

The block is located at the center of Xinghua Old Town, with Chang’an Street in the east, Pailou East Road in the south, Pailou North Road in the west and Fuqian Street in the north. It boasts a total area of 2.5 hectares and more than 300 shops with a total investment of 1.7 billion yuan. This place commenced its operation in 2009. Ancient buildings and cultural relics in the block are well preserved, which reproduces the scenes of Lixiahe Area in Ming and Qing Dynasties.

The block connects local culture such as celebrities, novels and chess, and covers scenic spots such as Xinghua Museum, Zheng Banqiao Memorial Hall, Fan Zhongyan Memorial Hall and Xinghua Chess Museum, six cultural preservation sites such as Liyuan Garden, Four-Archway Building and Baziqiao, and two major clusters of cultural, tourism and commercial industry such as Baziqiao Cultural Square and Commercial Block, highlighting the night view and atmosphere of “Banqiao Bamboo” and “No.1 Scholar as Prime Minister of Feudal China”. The block has launched night performances including Banqiao Daoqing Theater, immersive performances such as “Banqiao Opening Granary”, “Fan Settling a Lawsuit”, and live performances such as “Stack Ballads”. It has also launched regular night shows such as intangible cultural heritage interaction, street performances, appreciation of paintings and calligraphy, and great masters drawing with a writing brush. The block has introduced various forms of trendy businesses such as theme pubs, food specialties, tea houses in the style of Ming and Qing Dynasties, boutique homestays, painting and calligraphy workshops, antique photography studios, musical instruments stores, and ceramic art clubs, as well as cultural and creative products, cultural relics and antiques, and featured agricultural products, to bring diverse consumption experiences and become ideal places for gathering at night.
