Huai’an Baima Lake Scenic Area

Baima Lake is a historic lake and one of the top ten lakes in Jiangsu Province. The total area is 113 square kilometers. It is 18 kilometers long from north to south and an average width of 6 kilometers from east to west. With a total length of 78 kilometers around the lake embankment. Because the shape resembles a white horse soaring up, it is named Baima Lake.

Baima Lake Water Conservancy Scenic Area

The scenic area is 101.04 square kilometers, of which the water area is 84.15 square kilometers. The scenic area mainly relies on the Baima Lake ecological restoration project to create a good aquatic ecological environment. It belongs to the mixed water conservancy scenic spot of natural river lake and wetland. The Baima Lake Water Conservation Scenic Area has superior natural and climatic conditions, a good ecological environment, and rich biological species. Since the Baima Lake ecological restoration work was carried out, the scenic area has successfully created a national AAA-level tourist attraction and a national wetland park.

Baima Lake National Wetland Park

The wetland park covers an area of 3243.37 hectares, of which the wetland area is 3059.78 hectares and the wetland rate is 94.34%. The park is divided into five major functional areas, namely the wetland conservation area, the restoration and reconstruction area, the mission exhibition area, the rational utilization area and the management service area. The wetland resources in the park are very rich. There are a large number of aquatic plants, such as reed, and hundreds of different kinds of animals.
