The scenic spot of “Story of Sunflower” of Baima Lake, Huai’an is located at the west side of middle Baima Lake, where Hongze District and Jinhu County intersects with each other. Covering an area of about 2 square kilometers, it is an unusual large field of demonstration planting area of various sunflower categories in the Yangtze River Delta. The scenic spot takes sun flowers as the main element and created the landscapes including Flower Sea Sunflower Peak, Mystery Land of Sunflowers, Star Camp, “Wish Trilogy”, “Path of Party Spirit”, etc. Therefore, this place is filled with romance throughout all seasons: in the spring, there is flower blossom of moss phlox, Chinese roses, and rape flowers; in the summer, the French hydrangea, crape myrtle, and sunflowers are eye-catching and fragrant all over; in the autumn, shrubby cinquefoil, lily, garden cosmos burst into full bloom; while the camphor trees, daffodils, and photinia trees remain green and lush in winter.
In the scenic spot, there are 8 exotic attractions, 6-kilometer fascinating loop lines, 600-mu clear internal lake, and 440-mu ecological parking space. In 2020, the tourist attraction has upgraded itself to enrich the business forms and improve supporting facilities, to make the travel experience as comfortable as possible in terms of all aspects including food, accommodation, transportation, visits, and shopping.
Boutique items are added: Avenue of Plane Trees, Avenue of Cherry Blossom, Gallery of Art, Gallery of Light and Shadow, among all others. While all these are a great feast to the eyes, they are all designed to bring the best experience to tourists. The goal is to establish an ecological tourism destination integrating multiple functions such as flower appreciation, scientific research and study, agricultural experience, delicacy of lake fresh, camping under starry sky, healthcare and wellness, wedding photography, celebrations, and performances, etc.
