Siyi Pastry Shop 四宜糕团店

In Nantong golden business street Yinan Street, Jiangsu, the first city of modern China, a famous shop of a history of over 120 years is standing there — Nantong Siyi Pastry Shop.

The old decorated archway, red columns and green glazed tiles condense a primitive and simple style,looking striking and solemn. The five powerful characters “Siyi Pastry Shop”on the lintel show very full and smooth brushstroke.


In the 23rd year of Emperor Guangxi Period in the Qing Dynasty (1897), a businessman from Wuxi named Wang Shengrong opened a restaurant at Beitu, Changqiao in Nantong, and the business remained flourishing all the way no matter for on-site dinning or take-out owing the pure taste and sophisticated workmanship. The boss Wang then decided to name his shop as “Tongzhou Siyi Pastry & Snack Shop”.
