China Museum of Huaiyang Cuisine 中国淮扬菜博物馆

China Museum of Huaiyang Cuisine, situated in Huai’an of Jiangsu, is China’s largest Cultural Museum with cuisine as its topic. It covers an area of 6,500 m2, and creates the museum that integrates infotainment, interestingness, and participation by using the modern high-tech layout measures. This museum fully demonstrates the development, innovation and heyday of the culture of Huaiyang Cuisine, allowing people to fully understand the long historical and cultural connotation of Huaiyang Cuisine. 

The museum contains the four function zones like the Ancient Huanghuai Cultural Hall, Huai’an Folk Hall, Huaiyang Cuisine Culture Museum and Tasting Hall.In the exhibition halls, besides diverse books describing Huaiyang Cuisine, there are also precious photos displaying the development history of Huaiyang Cuisine.Furthermore, Huai’an Ruandou Dish, Steamed Shad, Shrimps Saute, Yangzhou Fried Rice, Crab Powder Ball, Multiple Layer Oil Cake, etc. Huaiyang Famous Dishes, Exquisite Food Molds, and other Precious Food Boxes such as Bearing Hampers during the Republic Years are also displayed here.

In the China Huaiyang Cuisine Culture Museum, it uses numerous exhibits to display the historical contexts of Huaiyang Cuisine, such as “originating in the Spring and Autumn Period, incubating in the Han and Wei Dynasties, developing in the Tang and Song Dynasties, and prospering in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.” These exhibits fully demonstrate the profound food cultural deposits of The Home of Huaiyang Cuisine.
