Over the long history, the intersection of the river and the sea at the estuary of the Yangtze River has become an important sub-region of Jiangsu Culture. The colorful and diverse Jianghai (River&Sea) Culture is formed here, and Haimen Town in Nantong City is the bright pearl on top of it.
Jiangsu Jianghai Museum, a state-owned medium-sized provincial-level theme museum, is the only museum that displays the origin, inheritance, and development of Jianghai Culture. As an original museum in Jiangsu, it is an important window to learn about Jianghai Culture and the characteristic culture of Haimen.
Jianghai Museum, which is built in the center of Jianghai Park, is designed in the form of “Siting Zhaigou”, a characteristic dwelling in Haimen. It has collected more than 5,000 cultural relics. “The Light of Jianghai” exhibition area fully displays the historical changes of Jianghai Culture; the special exhibition area highlights the brilliant and gorgeous cultural heritages; the excellent characteristic culture exhibition area sets up the “Ni Shiyun’s Guqin” exhibition hall, “Characteristic Old Furniture of Haimen” exhibition hall, “Haimen Stories” relief column exhibition area, and “Twenty Mini Scenery of Haimen” Stone Carvings, etc.; the cultural and creative interactive area sells exquisite cultural and creative products.

May 1st to October 31st: every Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00-17:30, ticketing and entry stopped at 16:30.
November 1st to April 30th the next year: every Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00-17:00, ticketing and entry stopped at 16:00.
Closed on Mondays (except for statutory holidays, short holidays, and golden weeks), Chinese New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day of the Chinese lunar calendar.
